Stakesy's WS8 Tube Filler Resin
Low melting point plastic for filling thin-walled tubing such as that found in the bicycle industry and exhaust manufacturing. Rotary Tube benders such as the JD Squared series work superbly on wall thicknesses down to 1.5mm (depending on tube diameter) and down to a 3D bend (an example of a 3D bend would be a 1" tube on a 3" bend radius). Without an internal bullet mandrel there is little to stop the tube from trying to collapse other than the wall thickness of the material itself, and the design of the tooling surrounding the material, which can only do so much. A full mandrel bender costing tens of thousands of pounds, has an internal bullet or articulated mandrel system to prevent this inward travel which causes kinks.
Stakesy's WS8 Tube Filler Resin is used to make a rudimentary mandrel which will help (not cure) against tube wrinkling. The resin comes in powder form and is melted into a large pourable pan over a hotplate (both available from Amazon for very little money). One end of the tube is capped with tape or a plastic bung and the melted resin poured in. Curing time is approximately 6-12 hours depending on quantity used. Once "set" the tube is used in a rotary draw bender to make the desired curves. To release the resin the outside of the bent tube is simple heated with a mapgas plumber's type blowtorch. Because of the low melting point the resin closest to the inner wall will melt and the resin "slug" will start to become malleable and exit the tube and into the melting pot where it can be reused over and over again. Residue can be washed off the inner wall with warm water.
For tube diameters over 1.25" we recommend mixing kevlar strand (1g per1kg) whilst melting. The kevlar breaks up easily and dissipates into the resin mixture where it helps to bind the liquid and helps to prevent cracking during the bending process.
WS8 Tube Filler Resin is not a substitute for a £100,000 hydraulic mandrel bender but can certainly enable bending in thin walled materials or reduced radii. e have had good success where a bend has failed because of small ripple kinks (with a depth of approx 1-3mm) whre it has enable a perfect, smooth bend to be made. There are limits however. If your have a 2.0" x 1.2mm stainless tube tht has completely collapsed during unfilled draw bending then the WS8 wont be able to cure that.
Overall, a great product which can greatly help in specific situations when used with a JD Squared or Stakesys's rotary draw bender.

Items under 30kg will be shipped by either 24hr courier or 1st class Royal Mail depending on item and weight and size.
All orders will be packaged and despatched same or next day. Orders made later in the day will most likely be sent out the following day.
We use a Next Day Delivery service however this service is subject to stock, courier availability and courier area. A signature is required for courier deliveries so please arrange for someone to be in at delivery address.

1/ Items returned under the 7 working day cancellation period
If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, you can return it to us in its original condition within 7 days of the date you received the item, unopened (with any seals and shrink-wrap intact) and we will refund the cost of the item and the cost of sending the item to you as follows:

2/ Items returned under 14-day returns guarantee
Where you are withdrawing from your purchase between 7 and 14 days after delivery, and there has been no error on our part, we will refund only the cost of the item minus 10% handling charge. We will not refund the cost of delivery or other services provided to you in connection with your purchase.
3/ Any goods items over 60 kg that have incurred special freight charges are excluded and the buyer will be responsible for both arranging and the costs of the return delivery.
